Come be part of a beautiful tradition at King’s – on December 3 join us for the annual service of lessons and carols sung by the King’s Chapel Choir.
All are welcome. Early arrival is recommended to ensure a seat.
Come decorate the Chapel for Christmas! Snacks and warm drinks will be served, and carols will be sung by the Choir!
Choral Evensong with Act of Remembrance. Names of military personnel who perished in conflict will be read. There will be no sermon. No glorification of war. A remembrance. All members of the King’s and Dalhousie communities are welcome.
The Chapel invites you to explore the soft meadows and rugged coastline of the Bay of Funday. The trip is an all day adventure including a picnic lunch on the Cape and a maritime supper at a near by church hall.

The Chapel intends to replace the much-loved Russian icon of the Mother of God which stood at the back of the Chapel during Fr. Thorne’s chaplaincy with a new hand-painted icon. Making this commission requires a great deal of prayer and discernment on the part of the community. Next Monday evening, after said Holy Communion, we will gather to reflect on the place of icons in the liturgy and devotion of East and West, and in the Chapel in particular, in terms of particular experiences of students here. Four students will speak about their experiences of praying with icons (or attempting to).

A festive locus of merriment to decorate the Chapel for Advent, and most especially for the Lessons and Carols service the following day. We will festoon the tree with popcorn-cranberry garlands and pomanders (clove-studded clementines), re-oil the pews and polish the brass, and drink eggnog, cider, and eat baked goods. There may even be carol-singing! Drop in anytime.
